Apply for authorization to conduct commercial drone operations within the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

Important: Submission of an application does not constitute authorization to operate. Commercial drone operations must not commence until written approval has been issued by the Civil Aviation Authority Bahamas.

Please have the following information and supporting documents available before starting your application.

Applicant Information

Applicant or operator name, nationality, passport information, address, email and telephone number.

Drone Details

Make, model, serial or registration number, weight and state or country of registration for each drone.

Operating Details

Proposed dates, times, duration, purpose and description of the commercial drone operation.

Operating Locations

Island(s), operating location(s), WGS84 coordinates and proposed flight height.

Certificate of Insurance

A current Certificate of Insurance must be uploaded with the application.

Drone Registration

Upload the Drone Certificate of Registration or equivalent registration evidence issued by the applicable state or country.

Operating Area Map

Provide a map clearly identifying the proposed drone operating area.

Local Representative

Provide details of your handling agency or local representative in The Bahamas, where applicable.

Commercial drone applications are reviewed before payment is requested.

CAA-B Reviews Your Application

The Civil Aviation Authority Bahamas will review the information and supporting documentation provided.

You may be contacted if additional information or clarification is required.

Applicable Fee Is Determined

Commercial drone fees are calculated based on the details of the proposed operation.

Factors may include the number of drones, number of operating locations and duration of the proposed operation.

Following review, CAA-B will advise you of the applicable fee and provide payment instructions or an invoice.

Complete Payment

Make payment using the instructions provided by the Authority.

Payment of the applicable fee does not by itself constitute authorization to conduct the proposed drone operation.

Final Review and Authorization

Following confirmation of payment and completion of the regulatory review, CAA-B will advise you of the outcome of your application.

Where approved, the applicable written authorization or permit will be issued.

Operating Information Required

Your application must include sufficient information for CAA-B to understand the proposed operation, including:

  • Start and end dates
  • Proposed operating times
  • Duration of operation
  • Island(s) and operating location(s)
  • WGS84 latitude and longitude coordinates
  • Map of the proposed operating area
  • Maximum proposed flight height

Important Regulatory Notice

Drone air operations within the Commonwealth of The Bahamas without prior written approval are strictly prohibited.

Applicants should allow sufficient time for their application to be reviewed before the proposed commencement date.

    Tell us when and where the proposed commercial operation will take place.










    List each proposed operating location.


    Provide latitude and longitude for each proposed operating location.



    Flight height must be less than 400 feet.

    Upload the documents required to support your application.

    Accepted formats: PDF, JPG or PNG. Maximum 2MB.


    Upload the registration certificate or registration evidence issued by
    the applicable state or country.

    The map should clearly identify the proposed operating area.
